Masters Student Interns at KEMRI

Faith Kivunga, Masters of Science Student in Biotechnology was among students who interned at the Kenya Medical Research Institute (KEMRI), IDeAL (Initiative to Develop African Research Leaders) in Kilifi for 10 months, from September 2018 until August 2019. 

Faith is currently researching on the development of a malaria vaccine that will help reduce the number of deaths especially in children under the age of 5 years and expectant women.

DOCTOR OF PHILOSOPHY IN BIOTECHNOLOGY

This programme is designed to promote and conduct basic and applied research in the areas of Biotechnology to help analyze and solve challenges facing human, plant, and animal health as well as environmental health. The curriculum also aims at enhancing students’ hands-on skills on current cutting-edge skills in relation to solving problems in biological and life sciences.
