Prof. Victor Jongeneel is a renown scientist with over 120 peer-reviewed articles. Currently, he is an independent consultant for Human Heredity and Health in Africa Bioinformatics Network (H3ABioNet).

The Centre for Biotechnology and Bioinformatics (CEBIB) welcomes postgraduate students and staff to a talk by Prof. Victor Jongeneel to be hosted at CEBIB Lecture room on Wednesday, March 11, 2020, at 1.00 p.m. to 2.00 p.m. Prof. Victor Jongeneel will share the experiences in his exemplary research career; the challenges and opportunities to look out for in science.

Abridged Bio: Victor Prof. Jongeneel worked as a Senior Research Scientist at the Carl R. Woese Institute for Genomic Biology, University of Illinois - USA (2016 - 2018). He served as a group leader and a full member at Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research (2006 - 2011), Associate Professor at University of Lausanne - Switzerland (2002 - 2016). He was the Director, High-Performance Biological Computing Group and Professor, Research Department of Bioengineering - University of Illinois (2010 - 2016); Vice-President for Research, the Cyprus Institute - Nicosia, Cyprus (2007 - 2009); Director, vital-IT high-performance Computing Center (2003 - 2007), and the founding Director (1998 - 2002) Swiss Institute of Bioinformatics, Lausanne - Switzerland.
