CEBIB Alumni Tracking Survey

The Centre for Biotechnology and Bioinformatics (CEBIB), the University of Nairobi values the Centre's alumni as key stakeholders in the execution of CEBIB’s mandate of teaching and learning, research and innovation, consultancy and community service. We hope you gained useful skills to propel you in your career endeavours. We are in the process of conducting a discipline-based tracer study to map the whereabouts of the Centre’s alumni and their career trajectories. The insightful feedback will be used to improve CEBIB’s programmes.

Renown Scientist, Prof. Victor Jongeneel, gives a mentorship talk at CEBIB

CEBIB hosted a guest speaker, Prof. Victor Jongeneel, a renown scientist with more than 120 peer-reviewed articles. Prof Jongeneel shared his experience on the challenges and opportunities in a research career. 

He advised the participants to:

  1. Figure out what you’re good at & work on it.
  2. Be opportunistic and always seek collaborations.
  3. Never put yourself behind a wall; share data/information - sharing & being open is fundamental for scientists.
